A day after heavy fighting between Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a and a Shabaab fighters between Matabaan and Mahaas of Hiiraan region in central Somalia, reports say that the situation returned to calm just as the death toll of yesterday’s fighting rose to about 20.

Al Shabaab stone man to death in central Somalia

Al Shabaab has Thursday afternoon stoned a man to death after accusing him of committing a rape, official said. Sharma’arke Abdullahi Mohamoud was killed in a square in Mahas district of Hiran region as hundreds of local inhabitants gathered to watch the stoning.
Suspected murders seized in Puntland

ONLF warns Chinese exploration firms to operate Somali region

The Ogaden National Liberation Front ONLF on Thursday warned Chinese exploration companies against operating in the Somali region under Ethiopia control. EU appoints new commander of anti-piracy mission in Somalia

Eighth arrest in Milton Keynes double killing inquiry bailed

An eighth person, arrested in connection with the killing of two Somali teenagers in Buckinghamshire, has been released on bail. Mohamed Abdi Farah, 19, and Amin Ahmed Ismail, 18, were shot on the Fishermead estate in Milton Keynes on 26 May. The man, arrested in Milton Keynes on Tuesday, has been bailed to 4 July.
