Somali president departs for Kampala

Somali President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed has departed for Uganda on an official two day duty. The President left the country yesterday and was accompanied by a high level Somali government delegation.

Several arrested for Las Anod’s Monday night attacks

Police in Las Anod town have arrested at least 20 people following the attack on a police station, south of the city, injuring two officers two days ago. Las Anod mayor, Keyse Mohamed Hajji Hussein said the attacks involved two hand grenades targeting a police station, adding that both attacks took place within a minute of each other.

MPs welcome Somalia-Kenya agreement

Al Shabaab ambushes TFG-Kenyan convoy

More than 40 al Shabaab fighters ambushed a convoy carrying Kenyan and Somali government forces along the road between Taabta and Dhobley in the Lower Juba region late yesterday. Residents in Dhobley said they saw several injured Kenyan troops among the hundreds of forces coming back to Dhobley from the urban areas between Tabta and Dhobley.

Ethiopian military crosses the border into Somalia

Kenyan Police recover illegal arms in refugee camp

Somali pirates hijack Greek-owned chemical tanker
