Prime Minister Abdiweli Mohamed Ali, on Wednesday night at the speaker of the parliament’s office, Mogadishu, witnessed the swearing-in of the newly appointed Labour, Youth and Sports Minister Mohamoud Jirde Hussein. Congratulating the newly appointed cabinet member, Prime Minister Ali expressed confidence that the minister was up to the task ahead of him. Also attending the swearing-in ceremony were cabinet ministers, MPs and officials from the Somali armed forces.

Somali Islamists arrest elders for having links with government

Al Shabaab Islamists have arrested two prominent elders in Baardheere District (southwestern Somalia) for allegedly having links with pro-government Islamists Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jama’a and the transitional government.
Al Shabaab said the elders will be punished if found guilty, the report added.
Funds for Roadmap delayed by international community

PM Abdiweli Mohamed Ali Gaas has said funds from the international community for the implementation of the Roadmap have been delayed, Garowe Online reports.
PM Gaas spoke about the accomplishments of the TFG that included the Garowe, Galkayo and Mogadishu agreements and the completion of the Somalia constitution.
ASWJ calls for united efforts towards lasting peace in central Somalia regions

Ahlu Sunna has called on local elders, politicians and religious leaders in central Somalia regions to take part in all efforts aimed at restoring law and order in these regions. Dubai conference to focus on piracy

Al Shabaab’s threat to Kenya

Al Shabaab says American militant not dead

An al-Qaeda-linked Somali militant group says its American commander who was feared dead in early April is still alive. Al Shabaab militants released a statement on their website Thursday saying Omar Hammami is in “areas under the control of Islam.” The group denied he had been killed.
Disaster management chairman resigns

Abdulahi Mohamed Shirwac, the chairman of Somalia’s disaster and management agency, resigned from his post after pressure from the PM and president on how he should manage the agency. “The chairman of the agency said there was mismanagement inside government. He was getting different orders from different offices,” according to a government source.

“Roadmap is one of rare possibilities of saving Somalia from Transship or outside intervention, so that point that is an opportunity for the roadmap. It is very clear many people are not satisfied with some points in the roadmap like constitution and federalism, but solution and saving the country from Transship is first priority”.
Somalia’s transitional Roadmap most likely to flourish

Roadmap, multi-task process of restoring peace and tranquility of a state which international community stamped on “Failed state” is very hard to anticipate whether it would fail or succeed.
Roadmap means making four main points accomplished before coming Augost and they are :- security, approval of a constitution, reconciliation and good governance.
The London conference on Somalia in earlier this year, world leaders decided execution of Roadmap, and who ever seen as barrier to that process would be called spoiler of Peace.
There are certain reasons that Roadmap could not simply lose ground as other previous processes.
