A few days ago, an important meeting was held in Villa Somalia. This time the guests were not high profile visitors and VIPs from across the world. What the Somali Government announced after this meeting is very significant; President Hassan Sheikh called on Prime Minister Abdi Farah Shirdon to urgently set up a Task Force to thoroughly investigate all cases involving the killing of Somali journalists with a view to bring those responsible to justice. This is a great step forward in ending this cycle of unacceptable violence.
